Journey Family,

This October will mark 30 years of ministry for us at Journey Church. This church and this community have shaped who we are. So believe us when we say we didn't go looking for this. But when God makes something this clear, you say yes.

Being elected as Network Superintendent is one of the greatest honors of our lives. It's also a role that requires our full attention, which means Journey will be transitioning to a new lead pastor in the coming months. During that time, we will still be present, still be pastoring, and still walking through this process with you step by step.

Journey is not an afterthought. We are committed to making sure this church is healthy, thriving, and well-led through every phase of this transition. We're not stepping away from something. We're stepping into something. And we're going to do it in a way that honors everything God has built here.

We are grateful for our Board, elected members from within this church family, who will prayerfully guide this process. And we trust that God is already preparing the leader who will carry Journey into its next chapter, just as He has faithfully done throughout the history of our church.

Pray for our church and our leaders. Stay engaged and present. And trust that God is writing a story here that is bigger than any one of us.

What's Happening

In April 2026, at the Wisconsin/Northern Michigan Assemblies of God Network Summit, our Lead Pastor Kevin Taylor was elected as the new Network Superintendent. Pastor Joelene will be stepping into this role alongside him as they lead the Network together.

We are so proud to send Pastor Kevin and Pastor Joelene into this next level of leadership! We celebrate what this means for the Kingdom and affirm the call of God on their lives.

As they step into this new calling, Journey will be walking through a leadership transition.

Journey has nearly a 100-year history, and a change in leadership is not new to us. God has been faithful through every transition, and we trust Him through this one too.

At the 2026 Assemblies of God Network Summit for Wisconsin/Northern Michigan, Pastor Kevin was elected as the new Network Superintendent. Pastor Joelene will be stepping into this role alongside him. They have been praying about this for a long time and believe deeply that this is where God is leading them. The Journey Board and pastoral leadership team affirms the call of God on their lives and are in full support.

Yes, they are transitioning into their new role with the Network. The Network office is headquartered in Waupaca, WI, and the role requires traveling to churches across Wisconsin and Northern Michigan on weekends and throughout the week. They are committed to making sure Journey is healthy, thriving, and well-led through this transition.

Pastor Kevin and Pastor Joelene will always be part of the Journey family, and you will see them from time to time as Journey is one of the churches in the Network they now lead.

Pastor Kevin and Pastor Joelene will begin taking on responsibilities with the Network in midsummer 2026, while continuing to be involved at Journey during a period of overlap until the Board determines an appropriate transition date. 

The Board will take the time needed to be thorough and prayerful in guiding the transition, and they will share updates as key decisions are made.

Our Journey Church Board is made up of elected members of our church family. They will prayerfully consider candidates and bring a recommendation to the church members for a vote.
